Martensitic stainless steel or aluminium bronze is frequently used in the manufacture of hydraulic components such as shovels, Kaplan blades and the like. Most of these large and complex shaped components are cast and thus belong to AW Schumacher’s product range.

The mechanical properties of the components often depend on their wall thickness and are always lower with increasing wall thickness. A high performance is often achieved through a combination of thin and thick wall areas in the same casting. Casting know-how is essential here.
